The Outreach Program at Mountainside is our way of moving out beyond our walls to show Christ’s love for our neighbors and to grow as a congregation of the world.
We are a member of the Cote des Neiges Council of Churches and help to run their mini prix store.
Financial support is provided to a variety of groups including: Mission and Service Fund of the United Church of Canada, Montreal Presbytery, Montreal City Mission, St. Columba House, and The Old Brewery Mission.
We open our doors to the community by providing space for the 2nd Westmount Scouting Group. Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Venturers and Rovers (ages 5-25) meet on Wednesdays in our building. The Girl Guides meet on Tuesdays.
Other groups who meet in our building include: Welsh Male Choir, Sweet Adeline Barbershop Singers, Ikebana Japanese Flower Arranging, Low- Impact Exercise Class, Diggers and Weeders Garden Club, Board of Camp Amy Molson, and Montreal Children’s Library.
The Outreach Committee responds to international disaster relief requests as they occur with information and fund raising efforts within the congregation.
Outreach Sunday is held once or twice a year with guest speakers highlighting a particular area of interest and concern.
